On Monday 12th November, the club played host to Biggar, Carluke, Lanark and Lesmahagow Camera Clubs.
All five clubs were competing for the Clydesdale Trophy; judge for the evening was Mike Cruise from Paisley Colour Camera Club.
Each club submitted 12 digital images for the judge to award up to a maximum of 20 points. The entries were of a very high standard with only 2 points dividing the top two clubs at the break.
At the end of the night however Carluke Camera Club emerged as worthy winners along with Carluke member Martin Pinkus winning the top image with ‘Going Home’.
Scores were as follows:
1st Carluke Camera Club 210 points
2nd Clydesdale Camera Club 194 points
3rd Lesmahagow Camera Club 185 points
4th Equal Biggar and Lanark Camera Club 184 points
The trophy was accepted on behalf of Carluke by Hunter Kennedy who also gave a vote of thanks to the judge and Clydesdale for hosting the event.
Next year the event will be hosted by Lanark Camera Club.
Next week 19th is an informal portrait night; remember to bring your camera.
It is also the hand in night for round 1of the internal competition.
