Meeting on 5 Jan 2010 "LOOKING BACK"
Despite the dreadful roads and winter weather, it was good to see members braving the snow to attend the first meeting of 2010.
The meeting provided an opportunity to discuss how members thought the club was progressing and to voice opinions on what they have enjoyed, what they would have changed and what they want for the future from the club. This was helped by members continued support and their welcome input. Some of the ideas are being actively looked into, so keep watching this space (and syllabus) for updates.
It is with some pride that the founding members looked back on the success of the club since it first hit the photographic scene in 2009.
The club has taken part in its first GDPU image league competition, narrowly missing out on a place in the final.
We were also honoured to be invited to take part in one of the biggest local club competitions. 20 of our members' best images went up against those of 6 other camera clubs in a competition entitled, "The 7 Way Battle". Carluke Camera Club took first place Clydesdale Camera Club came second with Lanark a close third. Other clubs taking part were Armadale, Biggar, Bathgate and Lesmahagow.
On a personal level, club vice president Gavin Forrest and secretary Jess Graham have both had a rewarding few months, culminating in their PAGB awards. (see article dated 29/11/09)
